That was the conclusion I had come to myself.  I've already downloaded both 
OpenSTA and NeoLoad.  As you'll have seen from my link, there is a documented 
ASP.NET postback workaround for OpenSTA and NeoLoad is also claimed to 
support it.  If only I could get back the time I put into trying to come up 
with a JMeter solution.  There should be a warning (preferably in bold red 
large letters) saying that ASP.NET postback isn't supported and don't waste 
your time unless you have the time and skills to write a component to support 
it.
