Forgot to mention that *simple* test-cases for exposing bugs can save a lot of time, especially JUnit testcases that can be added to the test suite.
Ideally test-cases should not require external servers etc; the Java Sampler is useful here (but of course is not much use for HTTP bugs ...). S.
