According to the jmeter documentation, you should be able to open the results files saved by various samplers, but I tried a few and always get an error dialog with the only message in that being "org.apache.jmeter.save.TestResultWrapper". Any idea what this is? I am using the File->Open dialog to open them, as I don't see the browse button anywhere (where is the file panel?) as mentioned in the doc.
