Not quite; relative paths can optionally include directory names. e.g. data1/csv/testfile.csv or ../data2/test/testfile.csv This is not specific to JMeter - it is an OS/Java feature. What is specific to JMeter is that CSV Dataset files are relative to the JMX file.
