testing webservice

Dear all,
 
I need to perform load testing on a web service. 
I found Jmeter tutoriel using the WebService(SOAP) request componant, to
pass parameter I need to write the SOAP envelop.
But no other way without using SOAP envelop?
 
WSDL description? Thanks in advance,
