The only other thing I can think of that might cause a sampler to be
skipped (actually or apparently) is an error logged to the console
window.

If you have access to the server logs you should be able to check if
the requests were made or not.

Alternatively, use some kind of protocol analyser or proxy to capture
the traffic:
