Ah, these are great suggestions. I got the debug sampler/ view results
tree method working.
The next logical step for me is to save my variable(s) to a CSV file,
each response getting it's own row and each variable getting it's own
column. I messed around with Simple Data Writer for some time, but
couldn't get the desired behavior.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Mike

Hi,
I'm new to jmeter and after playing around a bit I can't quite
figure out
how to do this. I want to track a variable that's in the body of the
responses. I found the regular expression post process, but is
there a way
to attach a listener to that variable so that I can graph it's
change?
You can display variables using the Debug Sampler in View Results
Tree.
Or you can use a Java Sampler to return just that variable in View
Results Tree.
Or you can use the __log/__logn function to copy the variable to the
jmeter.log file
Or you can add variables to JTL output files:
http://jakarta.apache.org/jmeter/usermanual/listeners.html#sample_variables
Or you can use a child BeanShell Listener to do whatever you want.
If this isn't clear let me know and I can provide more detail
around my
project. Also, I'm trying to do this all from the GUI, if that
makes a
difference.
Thanks!
