Have you captured what happens in the application using Fiddler (or some other 
web logger) when you empty the cart?  This is what your JMeter script needs to 
do.

If so, have you added a View Results Tree listener to your script to see what 
is happening?

I have a webshop in which i add items to the cart. When I remove items from
the cart I see no effects recorded in jmeter. A javascript function is
executed. How do I incorperate the function so that the cart is emptied.
