Based on this response text your regexp is wrong. But somehow I suspect that you have not provided the response text properly, at the very least try to include the characters that follow and precede the ViewState and try formatting it properly.
In general, point 2 answers point 1 and for point 3 you could try comparing the requests that you are sending with those sent by a browser.
