The old Jmol code was already supporting vectors within .xyz files ... and the file samples/xyz/cs2.xyz was already in the repository. (I don't remember whether or not the charge support was in the previous Jmol xyz reader.) I went looking on the web for information and found at least one reference to these things as 'standard extensions' to the xyz file format.
