There is no documentation for the g3d package.

You must read the source code.

It would be a great assistance if you wanted to document it.

I have been working on surface code for a long time.

I suggest that you choose something else to work on. Or at least
coordinate with me to work on the same code, so that we do not duplicate
effort.
