"conforming" processor instead of its "quirks" processor, and all you

I agree with you, but we aren't completely lost.

you can find further information about 'Doctype switching'.
Additionally during debugging Jmol.js, it might be useful to enable a popup
alert with the value of 'document.compatMode'.
