Well, I *thought* I had discovered something. After *much* investigation (before reading your email) I determined that in jmol.xml we were not specifying target="1.1"
This statement eliminates the class loader problems. However, there are *lots* of other problems. I have been trying to work my way through them ... but I am about to give up for the nite. Will try compiling with an older version of the jdk. Also will take a look at the developer's guide ;^) Miguel > > Hi Miguel, > > i was called away, so that i could not respond... > you're big news is not so big as you might think.... it actually > is stated in Jmol's developers guide. > > You indeed need to compile with old javac versions, because as you > suggested, the binary format of class files has indeed be changed... > > If you want the applet to run on older, i.e. JVM 1.x, browsers, you need > to compile with javac 1.3 in classic mode, or older compilers... > > Egon -------------------------------------------------- Miguel Howard [EMAIL PROTECTED] c/Peņa Primera 11-13 esc dcha 6B 37002 Salamanca Espaņa Spain -------------------------------------------------- telefono casa 923 27 10 82 movil 650 52 54 58 -------------------------------------------------- To call from the US dial 9:00 am Pacific US = home 011 34 923 27 10 82 12:00 noon Eastern US = cell 011 34 650 52 54 58 6:00 pm Spain -------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.NET email is sponsored by: SourceForge Enterprise Edition + IBM + LinuxWorld = Something 2 See! http://www.vasoftware.com _______________________________________________ Jmol-developers mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/jmol-developers
