Summary: Anti-aliasing does not work on Apple's OSX JVM

Initial Comment:
Anti-aliasing is not working on the Apple JVM for OS/X
due to bugs in the JVM. A workaround is to uncheck the
Graphics2D option: "Edit -> Preferences -> Display
(tab) -> Use Graphics2D".

A work-around was put into the code to disable use of
Graphics2D on Apple JVMs.
I have filed several bugs with Apple over the past 4 months,
during the 1.4.1 beta period and after release. They have
not responded to any of them.
