Hi all,

similarly to what I proposed recently to JChemPaint (2.0 pre-series), I would
like to propose the license of Jmol back to GPL (as it was in the past), *but*
only for those parts that do not have a general use in other programs too...

Practically, this would mean that the Jmol GUI (menu's, toolbars, etc) would
be GPL, while the renderer will remain LGPL and would still be allowed to be
used by proprietary products. We (Miguel and I) are far with porting the
renderer to CDK, and it will be LGPL there too.

The change would allow to include functionality from other GPL projects, like
JOELib and Ghemical. It currently is not possible to fully integrate parts of
these with Jmol.

How does this sound to you all? Please respons asap.

Egon
