Greetings!

We are preparing a CDROM release for http://www.nesc.ac.uk/esi/events/394 and have planned a section on CML-RSS. YY is coordinating the material in this. It will have two sections:
(a) server-based SDF2RSS converter service (YY). This is a standalone servlet which takes a posted SDF file and converts it to a complete static CMLRSS channel and list of items (currently running on http://wwmm.ch.cam.ac.uk/Bob/generate_rss.html). [Please test it - note that our server is being upgraded today]. YY will package all the components for mounting on any servlet-aware server. If you would like to test it please let YY know.

(b) a standalone run-anywhere RSSClient (in a Java 1.4 environment) based on:
- Jmol
- JCP
- RSSViewer
(and an install-anywhere for Windows).

Billy is coordinating this
Egon and others - can you let us know which versions of the software you would like distributed. It should be selfcontained (e.g. there can be other versions of Jmol on the CDROM). Can you also liaise with Billy about brief installation instructions - the users at Edinburgh will have YY, Billy and me to help but after that they will have to rely on the CDROM and the lists.

We shall include YY's ACS presentation which gives a very clear overview of what CMLRSS is.

We are hoping for widespread interest in this :-) and it should be good publicity. I suspect that this community is more interested in Jmol than JCP.

P.
