Good.

straight java code is nearly as fast as C/C++ ... I think within 10%

The problem areas are
 1. library calls
 2. heap memory allocation

I had a little trouble understanding the UI to get it going, but finally
figured it out.

I actually thought that you were incorporating the viewer directly into
your application.

I think that may be more appropriate for what you are trying to do. And it
is easy.

In Jmol CVS, take a look at samples/Integration.java
