Category: Applet Group: None >Status: Closed >Resolution: Rejected Priority: 5 Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Miguel (migueljmol) Summary: JmolV10rev13 crashes Safari when buttons used Initial Comment: None of the JmolV10 preview examples work on the latest versions of Safari (1.2.3 v125.9) and Java (1.4.2_05) on OS X (10.3.5). The initial molecule loads, but pressing any of the user interface controls (radio buttons, menus, etc.) cause Safari to immediately quit. No error comes up or no "Safari quit unexpectedly" dialog comes up. The process just stops and the browser window disappears. I tried this with Mozilla which doesn't crash, but the buttons just don't appear to have any affect on the model. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Miguel (migueljmol) Date: 2004-09-09 05:27 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1050060 Apple introduced this bug in Java 1.4.2 Update 1 on 10 Aug 2004. It affects all JavaScript/Java applet communication. They released the Final Candidate Preview of Java 1.4.2 Update 2 on 8 Sep 2004. Hopefully this will be released within the next 2 weeks. Mozilla does not work because it uses Java 1.3.* and there was/is no LiveConnect functionality. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=379133&aid=1024827&group_id=23629 ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by BEA Weblogic Workshop FREE Java Enterprise J2EE developer tools!
