Q: Does the 'reset' command have any effect on slab settings?

in RasMol it has an ugly effect, don't know what (slab 50;depth 50)?

Q: What about 'zap'/loading a new molecule?

in RasMol loading a second molecule while slab is active was ugly, too, you don't see anything of it until you turn slab off.
zap sets slab and depth off

I don't think that the RasMol behaviour is of any use.

the documentation said:
reset resets movements and zoom
zap restore the program to its initial state

We should discuss about it.

At the moment I would prefere if zap and load would turn both off,
and reset may turn them off (but better not) but in any case, a subsequent slab on; depth on; command should recall the former values.

P.S. the monitor command has got lost, too, on the way to 10pre14b
