After doing some research, here is the way, how to handle documentation
translation with xml2po:

- install Python (http://www.python.org/download/)
- download the libxml2 bindings
(http://users.skynet.be/sbi/libxml-python/)
- xml2po scripts are part of Jmol's CVS

For further information - like command line options, ... - see
build-doc-i18n.xml. The update-po and update-xml targets in this script
do not work atm. I will try to find the problem. For now you can open a
windows shell (type cmd and hit ENTER in START > Run) and type the
commands there.
