Should be just the data files.

Jmol-HEAD is separate and no longer contains the samples.

You should put them in sibling directories.

My directory structure looks like

jmol/ ->
  Jmol-HEAD
  Jmol-datafiles
  Jmol-web

Ahh ... that is a flaw in CVS ... it will not get rid of empty directories
unless you ask it to.

I suggest that you always use the '-dP' switches when you perform updates ...

  cvs update -dP
 OR
  cvs up -dP


The 'P' means 'prune empty directories'
The 'd' means 'pull down new directores (including content) from the
repository'
