Miguel,
I understand. Mostly I'm interested in getting feedback -- nothing is
set in stone, of course. Please let me know what the proper protocol is.

Bob,
It is not clear how widely we should be advertising this. To be clear, I
consider this prototype code.
Information returned is in the form of an array:
I am not very comfortable with this ... at least not yet.
What you have may be exactly the right thing ... but we need the process
to proceed a little more slowly.
The output for any of the above properties that have "Info" in them
is in the form of a JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) string
(see http://www.json.org/).
The idea behind JSON strings is to provide a compact way of transmitting
data structures from one computer to another via "DOM script nodes".
I just thought this might be a convenient way of getting information
from the applet to a web application. As it turns out, it's perfect.
It may seem perfect to you, but we need to make sure that others ...
especially me ... buy off on it.
I suggest that we proceed a little more slowly.
The basic idea here is to avoid callbacks.
That is a good thing.
The information I've
started us off with replaces the "show" script command. I'm sure
there will be other properties we will want to consider including,
but this is enough for now. (bonds, for example?)
Enjoy!

ps -- the use of JSON and DOM script nodes is a bit amazing.
I am sure that it is a powerful capability, and I am truly glad that you
felt empowered enough to work on it.
It may be exactly what we need.
But, it needs peer review and my blessing before we consider it official.
Miguel
