Bob, I found the source of the 'jumpiness' during rotations.
You are having the status manager record quite a bit of heap-allocated data. This is causing the garbage collector to kick in. Let's talk about what information you are trying to keep track of and I will help come up with a scheme that doesn't beat on the heap so much.
