I don't think that there is a special test for that in the code.

My gut says that it would not help performance much, but it certainly
wouldn't hurt.

Along those lines though ... identifying that two of three points were the
same would reduce the triangle to a line draw. That could help if there
are lots of skinny triangles. But, you would lose the color interpolation
if you were using different RGB values at the corners.
