Eric, Frieda, Tim, others:

What do you want Jmol 11 to do with chains that have two groups with the
same group number?

Example (noted by Eric):

 1jsa.cif

loop_
_pdbx_poly_seq_scheme.asym_id
_pdbx_poly_seq_scheme.entity_id
_pdbx_poly_seq_scheme.seq_id
_pdbx_poly_seq_scheme.mon_id
_pdbx_poly_seq_scheme.ndb_seq_num
_pdbx_poly_seq_scheme.pdb_seq_num
_pdbx_poly_seq_scheme.auth_seq_num
_pdbx_poly_seq_scheme.pdb_mon_id
_pdbx_poly_seq_scheme.auth_mon_id
_pdbx_poly_seq_scheme.pdb_strand_id
_pdbx_poly_seq_scheme.pdb_ins_code
A 1 1 MYR 1 1 1 MYR MYR A .
A 1 2 GLY 2 1 1 GLY GLY A .
A 1 3 ASN 3 2 2 ASN ASN A .
...
--------------------^----- author's sequence number

Note that MYR and GLY were given the same group number (1) by the author.

OPTION 1:

Jmol just uses 1-n numbers, with MYR 1, GLY 2, etc.

OPTION 2:

Jmol honors author's idiocyncrasy and "select 1" returns both MYR and GLY.

Your wish is my command, provided you can agree.

Bob
