Is there a reason for having "Close" and "Exit" entries in the application File menu? Now I have two nice icons for them, a red X and an onOff red sign (vertical bar inside an open circle).
Some time ago I remember discussing that both closed all Jmol windows, while I expected Close to close only the current one. Now I see that in the current version, both entries just close the current window, which sounds reasonable, but if they do the same we don't need both entries. How about having "Close" do a zap, no window closing, and Exit closing the current window? Since "New" opens a new window, not a new document (and the new icon clearly indicates that), I think that zapping would be intuitive for the user, although it is not needed since any File Open does a zap. The alternative is to just remove Close and leave Exit. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Jmol-developers mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/jmol-developers
