Jmol 11.6.RC14 introduces one last touch worthy of a new version marking:
The signed applet now allows writing to a local drive, with user approval.
All actions of the WRITE command that create files are active for the signed
applet, giving a popup dialog for the user to confirm file save, change file
name, path, and type, or set image quality.
This includes writing of file contents of the last-loaded model or any file
on the web, writing of JVXL file data, writing of JPG, PNG, and GIF files,
variables, states --- the works.
Note, GIF file writing is enabled, but it's pretty lowsy because of the
limitation of 256 colors and the simplistic way I implemented that.
That's the good news.
The bad news is that I'm stuck half way through a commit, and I don't see
how to get around this rightt now. So for the time-being, the trunk is quite
broken. Please wait to check any code in until you hear back from me later
today.
