I have a doubt:
        show boundbox
gves the same values irrespective of zoom. And I understand those figures are 
angstroms.
Then, we have A for atom coords (which get exported to vrml / x3d) and A for 
box 
dimensions. So, why that is not enough? The vrml world is defined in an xyz 
coordinate 
system. No screen coordinates implied, just the 3D objects in the Cartesian 
system.
