But we do already have in the popup entries for saving a copy of the file and 
for saving the 
state, so what's the difference?  This is just a more convenient way of doing 
the same.

Certainly. I hope to be able to update the pull-down menu too so it has also 
e.g. the Export 
to Vrml etc. File>Save is a must.

Good. But one must find how to implement that restriction. Does Jmol know if 
the model 
was loaded from a jmol file?
