Its worth pointing out that a full migration requires the communication between JavaScript and Java to be functional. As far as I am aware, many browsers, particularly not on Windows, do not support the Liveconnect implementation to allow this to happen. One conspicuous casualty is MacOS X, which for better or worse, has never had Chime (as of course is true of Linux etc). Today's Java 1.4.1 update promised to bring many enhancements to its Java plugin support for eg the Safari browser, but in my hands at least the Liveconnect option is still not implemented. If anyone has experience of other browsers (particularly Konqueror on Linux) which do support Liveconnect, do let me know.
