Here is our test matrix

OS: Jaguar, Panther
Java: 1.4.1, 1.4.2 DP1 (Developer Preview 1)
jar: Jmol (application), JmolApplet (applet)

To determine your java version:

 - open a terminal
 - type 'java -version'

I think we are OK on:
 Jaguar + 1.4.1 + Jmol
 Jaguar + 1.4.1 + JmolApplet

I think we are dead on:
 Panther + 1.4.1 + Jmol
 Panther + 1.4.2 DP1 + Jmol

I have one report that the following works:
 Panther + 1.4.2 DP1 + JmolApplet

The easiest way to test the applet is to go to the links under:
 http://jmol.sf.net/preview

If you want to test the 1.4.2 DP1 release you need to go to
  developer.apple.com
  (login or register)
  Download Software -> Java
