I must say that OSX has some problems related to Java in typing and selecting from boxes. I have tried the JME java program to draw structures and generate smiles strings. It does it well. But you cannot then select the string or save it. The little box is inaccessible as far as I can tell. And that is not in a browser. So I suspect it is related somehow to the Mac Java implementation.

how do other applets perform in those two browsers? Camino, at least, has
some standing issues with Java applets related to typing and dragging.
