Yeah, I took me a little while to realize that you had 10.3 and Safari 1.1.1 and they went together and only together. I just figured that Apple would continue to give their browser away. Anyway, that seems like the browser business model for most browsers. I am not surprised by Apple's decision to stop giving out the iApps for free, but a browser and Java support! Man, that is lame. On the other side, I have every intention of upgrading to OS 10.3 anyway. I guess it is time to get going on it.

hey Chris,

the same was true for Safari 1.1.1. I sympathize, and so do many others:

my understanding is that Safai 1.2 takes advantage of underlying frameworks
only available in OS 10.3. but that is only my understanding - it may or may
not bear any resemblance to reality. ;-)

the Apple thread makes for, well, rather interesting reading. :-)

greetings,

I urge all OS X users to download the latest Apple updates to Safari
(now 1.2) and Java (thanks Nick!). finally Apple has added support
for Live Connect, which means that messageCallBack and pickCallBack
in Jmol will now function in Safari 1.2. I am certain there will be
problems, but at very least sites like this one

now work in Safari 1.2. hurrah!
