We should continue to search-the-web to see if we can uncover the mechanism that they use to launch helper-apps (if any). If that fails, then there is another option that we could explore ... we could try using the 'plug-in' mechanism to launch Jmol as a helper-application. Someone could write a very small small plug-in in C/C++ for Safari that does two things: 1. Displays "Jmol Plug-in Hack" in the the browser window 2. Launches the jmol application outside the browser. Robert, this is a task that one of your students could handle.
