By the way, MDL confirms that they won't release the source code for Chime, even on a confidential basis. I don't understand why not; it's no good to them anymore. But it's their property to do with what they will, I suppose.
One reason MDL has given in the past is that Chime includes libraries that MDL sells separately. They claim that the libraries are intermixed in such a way that separating these commercial libraries from the Chime code proper would be a large job.
