Although MacOS X now recognizes Jmol as an application (thanks, Henry, Tim, and Phil!), it is still not possible to set Jmol as the default app for opening MOL files. I've posted a message to Apple to see if there's a bug in the Finder, a flaw in Jmol, or neither.


I assume neither, it is simply because you have installed Chime, the plugin grabs all these MIME types.

But I haven't installed Chime in any MacOS X browser. It's installed only in Netscape 4.7 under Classic OS. There's no way any MacOS X browser or even the system should be able to see it.
