Change that to false. recompile and see if it works.

You are right, now it's much more reliable on W2000 and XP with Mozilla.

Jan,

Please let me know if you encounter any other problems with this thread
turned off.

this and the Jmol I updated today from CVS reproducibly dump Linux (and some W2000) Mozilla on loading structures with many JmolAppletControl buttons like
http://www.imb-jena.de/cgi-bin/SCOPlnk.exe?JMOL=1k23

Linux configuration Mozilla1.5:
Java(TM) Plug-in: Version 1.4.1
Using JRE version 1.4.1 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM
Jmol Version 10pre8b 2004/04/14 10:45

<Mozilla STDERR>:
INTERNAL ERROR on Browser End: Could not register plugininstance

System error?:: Resource temporarily unavailable

Regards, Jan

I am happy to report that

http://jmol.sourceforge.net/demo/trace/

and

http://www.imb-jena.de/cgi-bin/SCOPlnk.exe?JMOL=1k23

work on at least one OS x 10.3.3 based computer running Safari 1.2 and Mozilla 1.6. When I view the imb-jena page, the check boxes have x's in them when view with Mozilla and odd characters (the extreme left hand edge of an X I think) in them when viewed with Safari. Was this intentional?

I also checked the pages with Netscape 4.79 running inside my Classic environment.

http://jmol.sourceforge.net/demo/trace/

worked fine, but

http://www.imb-jena.de/cgi-bin/SCOPlnk.exe?JMOL=1k23

didn't. The molecule and all the buttons loaded, but I never saw the molecule. I know the molecule loaded because when I clicked on the jmol window, atom designations like "N Leu 1280 Chain:B" appeared in the status bar.

Sincerely,
Chris
