I have a few questions about boot systems on Mac OSX

In the old days one had to have special tools to create a hard disk for MacOS

Q: Can a regular/normal IDE hard drive be put into a MacOSX system?

yes

Q: Will it boot properly

If formatted as an Apple drive, which you can do.

Q: Is it feasible for me to think about a MacOSX system with 3 hard drives
in order to boot 3 different OS versions?

Yes. In OSX one can select the startup drive and restart. I have not tried it for a while, but you used to be able to hold down the option key on booting and it would give you the boot drive choices.

(I *think* that I would rather use different hard drives rather than partitions.)

I have two drives and 5 total partitions.

Any advice?

Miguel
