see http://javaplugin.sourceforge.net Detail ------ As I understand it, all browsers other than Safari continue to use Java 1.3.* on Mac OSX. Java 1.4.? is required in order to get LiveConnect communications between JavaScript and Java. Apple has not made it easy for browser writers to update their code to use the latest version of Java. Steven Michaud ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) has written a very useful tool in order to address this unfortunate state of affairs. He has a very good understanding of the situation and has good documentation to explain the problems.
