I wrote a nice, long, detailed response to your message ... but then I
lost it ... and I don't have time to rewrite it now.

But Jmol is *not* compatible with RasMol/Chime in axis orientation and
handedness. That is, RasMol/Chime are not internally consistent in
handness. Jmol is consistently right-handed. Therefore, the rotations
*should be* correct in Jmol.

Jmol does support the axisOrientationRasMol for compatibility with
RasMol/Chime, which inverts the axes, negates the Z coordinate, and
negates rotations about the z axis (as I recall).
