Unfortunately, Apple has (yet another) bug in their mouse event handling. I have submitted a bug report to Apple.
ALT_LEFT drag is mapped to MIDDLE_DRAG (per Sun's human interface guidelines for dealing with single button mice). And MIDDLE_DRAG is mapped to zoom functionality.
So, this is not available.
OK Miguel, let's hope Apple manage to fix the bug, otherwise we'll have to live with it.
Meanwhile, I'll start thinking about the next thing to plague you with :-)
