I got the go-ahead from my
customers to give this a shot -- I'll report back on how it goes. I'll
try to do it in such a way that the J# version can be automatically
generated from the Java version. I'll have to check with our IP guys,
but I think I'll be able to contribute the J# version back to the Jmol
project. (We haven't worked much with open source at Brown, yet). E.L. For reasons beyond my control, we're doing this in C#. I've been fighting with the Direct3D renderer, and I realized, gosh, there are some great molecular visualization tools out there; why don't I just use them? The reason is... none of them are written on top of the .NET framework. So, I'm thinking about trying to "upgrade" (as microsoft calls it) Jmol to a Visual J# project. Then I can embed a Jmol viewer in my C# application. Has anyone tried this, that you know of? Do you have any suggestions, thoughts, waves of revulsion, etc? If I get it to work, would you be interested in having it contributed to the jmol project? Thanks for this awesome tool! I hope I can find a way to take advantage of all this work! -sascha ------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users.
