Currently each click multiplies the current scaling factor by 1.25

Maybe 1.05? What is the current zoom factor per pixel of mouse drag?
Also, in the current applet, if I scroll 3 steps bigger and then 3 steps back the molecule returns to its original size. But, if I scroll 4 steps them the 4th jump is not as big as the previous 3 and when I scroll back 3 steps I'm almost, but not quite, back to the original size and if I scroll back one more step then the molecule is considerably smaller than the original
