OK, thanks. I found it here:

defaults write com.apple.Safari IncludeDebugMenu 1
That sound right?
My problem, I think, is that on these public machines there's no general user access to a Terminal window.
Oh, well. If someone can figure out what is going wrong on that page for Safari, I'd certainly appreciate it. It's some general problem, I think. The one I'm talking about is:

If anyone can see why, please let me know. I have yet to figure out how in the world you debug JavaScript using Safari. (One of my problems is that I have to use public machines for my testing. Are there messages that show up? Some sorts of errors? I would like to get this working on Safari. Clearly it's a callback problem.
hi Bob,
you need to enable the Debug menu in Safari, then check the option to Log Javascript Exceptions. js errors will report to the Console. I will try to recall HOW I enabled this menu (something about a plist IIRC), unless someone else beats me to it... ;-)
btw, JS error msgs are pitifully obtuse in Safari - kind of like Win IE. good luck figuring out what the errors mean! I usually end up just guessing anyway.
Oh, wait, is that it? Does Safari NOT support LiveConnect? (Can you do any dynamic applet scripting at all with Safari? Maybe you can't. Someone's told me this ten times....)
Safari does support this functionality, at least the latest few iterations of the browser do. if you are using an old version, say the one in 10.2, you are in trouble.
best,
tim
