There are two separate mechanisms for controlling the display of hydrogens. Tim's suggestion of 'restrict not hydrogens' is RasMol compatible. The 'restrict' command turns off the display of anything that is not in the selected set. To turn hydrogens back on, one would say 'select hydrogen; cpk 20%; set bondmode or; wireframe 0.1' ... or whatever. Oliver's suggestion is Jmol specific. The 'showHydrogens' attribute can be controlled directly. It specifically turns off the rendering of hydrogen atoms and bonds that are connected to hydrogen atoms. While they are not being rendered, one could still change the size, color, etc. Miguel ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: 2005 Windows Mobile Application Contest Submit applications for Windows Mobile(tm)-based Pocket PCs or Smartphones for the chance to win $25,000 and application distribution.
