Cannot be a jmol issue.

The JVM is supposed to isolate applets from different web sites. It is a
security problem ... otherwise one could create an applet with the same
name and same class hierarcy as someone else (like a financial
institution) and do interesting/malicious things.

Jmol stresses LiveConnect much more than most applets.
