hi David,

there was some talk a while ago, before v10 release, about altering the Jmol 
scripting language to make it more powerful.  loops, conditionals, etc.  I 
believe the consensus was to make Jmol as compatible as possible with 
Rasmol/Chime first, and then possibly build a new scripting framework from 
scratch.  or maybe build hooks into something like python.

in any case, I agree that this is a good idea, as long as it does not interfere 
with R/C compatibility at this point.
