Dear all,

I just tried out Jmol 10.00.13 and noticed a vast difference in cartoon rendering to version 10.00. In the new version the cartoons look now just as poorly as in rasmol.

When I searched for an answer for that I found the following message in the jmol-users archive:
http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_id=7400375&forum_id=2151

Miguel wrote in it about version 10.00.12:

"In addition, a few bugs were fixed and graphics performance was enhanced in some areas. Due to popular demand, the rendering of ribbons+cartoons has been changed to eliminate the border at the edge of the ribbons."

I really can't imagine that there could be a large popular demand for that. The border was exactly what made the difference for a much better recognizability of the structures and a much better three-dimensional impression.

I hope that it is (or will be made) possible to set a switch to get the border back!
In the documentation I could not find a hint about such a switch.

Rolf
