All of this stereo stuff is new to me. I am not sure what the proper terminology is. The <degrees> parameter should be the number of degrees of rotation about the +Y axis for the image on the right. It looks to me like I have a sign-change bug ... so this may change in the next release. According to http://www.usm.maine.edu/~rhodes/0Help/StereoView.html For most graphics programs, set the stereo viewing angle to -5 degrees (that's minus five). RasMol is backwards; for convergent viewing, set the angle to 5 degrees with the command stereo 5 (this is the default in RasMol). Rereading this ... it is not clear to me what it is saying. Since Jmol uses a proper right-hand coordinate system, I do not intend this to be RasMol compatible. Any additional help/recommendations in this area would be appreciated. > 2) The 'set ribbonedge on' switch unfortunately has no effect, although > it doesn't produces an error message. I hope this gets fixed! I just checked ... The command is 'set ribbonborder on' not 'ribbonedge' If people think that this should be 'edge' instead of 'border' then I will change it. > 3) The 'surface' rendering contains a large number of blue and red dots, > which don't change their size if the zoom-factor is changed. It should not be used. It is subject to being broken/removed at any time. *If* I can ever get this code working then the command name is probably going to change to 'sasurface' for 'solvent-accessible surface' ... to clearly distinguish it from 'isosurface' > In version 10.00.13 > the surface looked ok in most cases I tried, although jmol/java hung up > often, especially if 'cartoon' was switched on also. Well, you thought it was OK ... I did too. But others did not like it. So my work in this area continues. > 4) For my current applications I don't see any difference or any > problems with the missing 'clear' before loading a new structure. Good. > Regards, > Rolf Rolf, Thank you very much for taking the time to give me this feedback.
