Hello to all
I am just back from holidays and overwhelmed by the huge number of emails and
Jmol-users list posts, so I may be wrong, but it sounds to me that part of the
problem being discussed --started by David description of what he was doing--
is that the caffeine molecule file is NOT under the folder where the applet
file is. This setup does not work in local mode, only in server mode.
This is explained in http://wiki.jmol.org/JmolAppletDeploymentLocal

It seems to me that the discussion got tangled over setting up the local web
server, but the basic question of where your put your files (a common problem
for beginners) may have passed unnoticed (again).

David,

I've read this thread and am pretty sure I am encountering the same
problems you did in writing my first web page with Jmol in it. I
tried simply copying/pasting the 'simple example' and got an empty
black window.

It's not entirely clear to me from reading the replies--what did you
finally do to get the thing to work?

Thanks,

Eric
